Not far from Aix en Provence and Avignon, Yves
Mikaeloff invites lovers of nature and the arts, vacationers and
travelers through the region, to come discover an outdoor museum called
Sculpture en Lubéron.
Monumental "tree"
works are exhibited out of doors in a timeless and magical place where they
blend into the oak trees, the pine, cedar and other natural essences.
Metal
tubes slash the air as a metaphor of the trees' foliage, while the material's
core has been removed to leave a void.
The
airy, dynamic effect plays against the metal and welding points used, as if
uniting the heterogeneity of the components.
Assembled from
recuperated objects, driftwood and metalwork, the sculptures reach to the
skies and seem to defy the laws of gravity.
